TIMESINDONESIA, JAKARTA – The timeless dialogue between art, soul, and culture takes center stage at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis this October through Intimate Dinner with Nyoman Bratayasa. This event is a special solo exhibition by Balinese artist Nyoman Bratayasa.
Organized by Sodha, a cultural event platform rooted in the spirit of the Nusantara, the exhibition will be held on October 31st, 2025, at the Art Gallery, Tugu Kunstkring Paleis, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Carrying the theme Road to Tatah Natah, Bratayasa’s latest collection unfolds as a meditative journey — a dialogue between human consciousness, tradition, and nature.
Through his expressive stone carvings and paintings, the artist captures the silent wisdom embedded in Bali’s spiritual and cultural essence. Each creation, carved or painted, becomes a living expression of reverence, where art is not merely aesthetic but sacred.
The Two Masterpieces
Among the highlights of this exhibition is Nuansa Merah di Bawah Laut or translated to Red Hues Beneath the Sea, the final piece in Bratayasa’s underwater series.
This painting evokes the serenity and mystery of the ocean, symbolizing inner peace and creative vitality. Another key piece, Jelmaan Dewa Indra (The Manifestation of God Indra), draws inspiration from the Mahabharata epic.
It depicts the divine ascent of Yudhishthira and his loyal companion, a dog — later revealed to be the god Indra — toward heaven. Through this piece, Bratayasa transforms myth into philosophy, inviting viewers to reflect on devotion, purity, and transcendence.

More than a visual experience, Intimate Dinner with Nyoman Bratayasa serves as a cultural reflection and spiritual offering. It reminds visitors that within every stone lies a soul, and within every courtyard — or natah — exists a sacred space where traditions breathe and wisdom is preserved.
Through his art, Bratayasa reawakens the understanding that stones, silence, and space are living teachers, transmitting lessons from ancestors to the present day.
About Nyoman Bratayasa
Born in Ubud, Bali (May 16, 1980), Nyoman Bratayasa hails from Banjar Gelogor Lodtunduh, Gianyar. A graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Warmadewa University, he ventured beyond academics to explore the spiritual language of art.

Known for blending a painter’s sensitivity with the tactile depth of stone, Bratayasa has showcased his works in numerous exhibitions across Indonesia and abroad, including Art Jakarta 2024 and Rwa Bhineda at Sun Contemporary Canggu, Bali, in 2025.
His creations reveal a profound search for balance between texture, light, and spirit — a journey that connects artistic form with the deeper philosophy of life.
Nestled in the heart of Menteng, Tugu Kunstkring Paleis stands as a heritage landmark and cultural sanctuary where art, history, and culinary artistry converge. Its second-floor Art Gallery regularly hosts exhibitions that foster dialogue among artists, curators, and art enthusiasts.
With the upcoming event, the gallery at Tugu Kunstkring Paleis once again reaffirms its mission to celebrate the living soul of Indonesian art and bridge tradition with modern creativity. (*)
